Holiday Shows Around Denver 2026: The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, Candlelight Concerts and More

Denver's two biggest holiday shows are Colorado Ballet's The Nutcracker (Nov. 28 to Dec. 27, 2026) at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and the DCPA's A Christmas Carol (Nov. 25 to Dec. 27, 2026) at the Wolf Theatre. Tickets for both are on sale now. The Colorado Symphony, Fever's Candlelight series, the Arvada Center and the Lone Tree Arts Center all have holiday programs too. Here are the dates, venues and starting prices we found on each organizer's site.

When is The Nutcracker in Denver in 2026?

Colorado Ballet performs The Nutcracker from Saturday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 27, 2026 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, with the Colorado Ballet Orchestra playing live. Shows are at 1 p.m., 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. depending on the day, and Christmas Eve has a 1 p.m. show only. Tickets start at $40, and the ballet uses dynamic pricing, so popular dates cost more. The ballet runs about 1 hour 50 minutes with one intermission and is recommended for ages 5 and up. Colorado Ballet: The Nutcracker

When does A Christmas Carol run at the Denver Center?

The DCPA Theatre Company's musical A Christmas Carol runs Nov. 25 through Dec. 27, 2026 at the Wolf Theatre, 1400 Curtis St. Base ticket prices are $41 to $195, including the city seat tax, plus an 18% service fee. It runs about two hours with a 15-minute intermission and is recommended for ages 6 and up (children 4 and up are allowed, and everyone needs a ticket). The DCPA notes ghost scenes that may frighten younger kids, plus stage fog and strobe lighting. DCPA: A Christmas Carol
