Mountain View is full of good and honest mechanics. They have done a great job with great prices, are always friendly, and their service is prompt. My husband and I both bring our cars here and will continue doing so!
I have been a customer for 10+ yrs. Referred to them from others at work when I relocated 11+yrs ago. As it turns out, my neighbors also go there. This is a legit operation. Don't expect to be in and out. Plan on some down time. It's worth it. This is the epitome of quality over quantity. They are honest and will treat you right. Follow up edit. I didn't mean for it to sound like down time would be days, just better part of a whole day. It may take time to get an appointment and that's actually a good thing. This allows them schedule accordingly and provide the quality service that you expect and they take pride in!
Got an oil change recently, service was fast, but for the day and a half that followed I kept smelling gasoline when I drove, especially when the A/C was on. Finally, the next evening, I lifted my hood and found that the cap to the oil tank was off and sitting under the hood (see pictures). This was potentially dangerous because when you breathe in gas, you are also breathing carbon monoxide. I realize it was a simple mistake, but it doesn't make it any less dangerous. Please be more careful.
Gave me honest advice and fixed my repairs at an affordable price. Also, they dropped me off and picked me up so I didn’t have to wait at the shop (up to 5 miles). Highly recommend!
This was some of the worst service I have ever received. Mountainview is condescending and ENORMOUSLY overpriced. My brothers and I were on a road trip and our car started smoking. We did lots of research and replaced/filled the antifreeze, as well as discovered that the make/model/car we have is notorious for having the radiator fans bust at a certain mileage. There are SO many auto shops in this area, and we drove around to 2-3 but all of them were full. I called Mountainview and the man on the phone was very kind about trying his best to squeeze us in. However, once we got to the shop, the customer service changed completely. I explained the whole issue and the worker said they would have to do a diagnostic for $130. When I asked if this was going to be in addition to the cost, the worker became hostile. I am a firm believer that all workers should be paid for their time, but I was already certain of the issue, and $130 is shockingly steep in price. They called us four hours later to confirm exactly what I told them on the front end, and then said it would cost nearly $2000 for them to fix the car. They claimed we needed an oil change even though we had one 2 weeks prior, and that they would have to completely flush and refill the radiator with antifreeze - we had done this already the day before. Even after arguing the “necessity” of all the other services they wanted from us, the quote was over $1000 - AND said they couldn’t fix it until the next day. So we called and said we would try to fix the radiator fan on our own. When my brother went to pick up the car, the worker was condescending and sarcastic about our ability to fix the car. We promptly went to a Jiffy Lube Multicare across the street, where they immediately confirmed it was the radiator fan and replaced it within 1.5 hours. Furthermore, Jiffy Lube charged us $210 for the parts (compared to $400+ from Mountainview) and
