The explosion of flavors will have you wanting more. They taste so good. I had a spicy chicken and spicy beef.
The environment was really calm, inviting, and friendly. Staff are also great. A bit pricey but given the location that is to be expected. Basically, $5 for one. You must try them all. Would recommend.

This place was DOPE! The empanadas are perfection, especially the crust. We tried BBQ chicken, spicy chicken, mushroom, spinach & cheese, and a dessert one, caramel, cream cheese, and peach. We also got some chimichurri sauce. Honestly, they don’t need any sauce. They are so good! The mushroom turned out to be my favorite, I went back and ordered a second one.
This place is also kid approved! My niece shared all four with me and asked for another BBQ chicken. It was honestly so good I forgot to take pics until we’d already devoured most of it.
Since this is on 16th street mall, there’s no parking in front. But we snagged a spot right around the corner, so it worked out. It was nice after to take a little stroll on the mall after.

We almost passed this place. I'm glad we stopped. I had a ground beef and a ham and cheese empanada. While not made locally, they were delicious and we didn't have to wait very long. Very friendly service.

Lazo is a great little shop, selling these great Empanadas, with all different types of fillings! If you want a quick bite, they're quite a good size, so one is a great snack!

I really want to give this place a higher rating, but I wouldn’t be telling the truth. Positives include a fairly clean restaurant and they have more options than what I assumed they would. The first con is that the empanadas are overpriced definitely. When I received my spicy beef empanada, it was so small. For $4.25 plus taxes and they asks for you to tip (which I try to do everywhere I go.) it came out to over $7. I felt cheated. I didn’t see the size until I paid and was shocked. When I tasted the empanada, I expected spices and burst of flavors, and it left me feeling disappointed. Please understand, when you say spicy and it’s not at all spicy, I feel like you’re misleading. On top of all this, the workers weren’t very welcoming, not rude per say but definitely not inviting. I feel like Denver has a lot of empanada locations, so maybe shop around and see what other locations have to offer.
