I was out of town and my dog sitter brought my puppy in for an abscess that came out of nowhere. This was on Thursday night. The draining procedure was going to cost around $700. I gave my card info to Kendall (spelling?) , then they said my card didn’t go through for the initial $109 office visit despite the funds being in there. Truly believe she was so annoyed with me and my dog. They wouldn’t help my puppy. Told me he was left there, had another friend try to go pick him up because I was told that the initial friend had just left my dog there. NOT TRUE. My friend got there and Kendall told my friend that my dog had actually already left with the initial friend. They lost my puppy! And Kendall proceeded to tell my friend that they were not a non profit and not going to help my dog. Like I was asking for some handout. Kendall also told me “I can’t tell you that your dog is going to be okay! I don’t know what you want me to say!” She was unbelievably heartless and rude. I felt so helpless being out of town on vacation with my family. I called my bank and there was no hold or anything on my card. I asked if they could wait until midnight to try again just in case it was some hold the hotels and travel sites had on my card or something. Nope! To be honest, I never leave negative reviews. I always choose to leave positive reviews when the service is great but the way this vet made me feel is something I wouldn’t wish on anybody. Absolutely disgusting.
We came to see Dr. Rosenthal at Caring Hands while on a visit from out of state. Our dog had been previously diagnosed with a non-life-threatening injury, but her condition was worsening. Caring Hands was able to see our sweet Sadie dog for an urgent appointment. Dr. Rosenthal was incredible the entire time. It's clear she loves animals and has a great connection with them. Dr. Rosenthal took the time to examine Sadie's records, listen to our concerns, and run necessary tests. She clearly explained her concerns, which tests she recommended, and how much everything would cost. In the end, Dr. Rosenthal's thorough tests revealed a serious and terminal condition. While it was a shocking and heartbreaking diagnosis, her attention to detail meant Sadie could spend the time she had left without pain and surrounded by those who loved her most. It wasn't the answer any of us wanted, but I will be forever grateful to Dr. Rosenthal for finding an answer. Without her, we may never have known what was behind our furry family member's sudden decline. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr. Rosenthal and her staff. They truly care about animals and their humans.
I don't think I have ever taken the time to write a public review - However, our brief experiences at this facility have been nothing short of atrocious. When we initially moved to the Thornton area, this clinic came highly recommended. Recently, our dog was due for an annual wellness exam. It took me two weeks to even get through on their main phone line to schedule the appointment. Our appointment was booked for 2:00pm. After being taken back to the exam room, we were told that the Vet would be in shortly. At 2:45pm I had to physically leave the room and ask if anyone was going to be seeing us today. All in all, it took over an hour and upwards of $400 for a simple Wellness Exam. This morning our dog was supposed to receive a teeth cleaning. He has an extreme fear of going to the Vet and doesn’t do well in a crate. As such, we were instructed to drop him off at 7:15am so that he could be one of the first procedures of the day. We arrived promptly only to wait outside for 20 minutes before the main doors were even unlocked. At 1:15pm we had not received any word on the status of our dog. I called the front desk and requested an update only to be curtly informed that not only had our dog not even begun the procedure, he had been sitting in a crate without food, water, or a bathroom break for almost 6 HOURS due to an emergency with another dog. I was then instructed that the cleaning would likely not be complete for another 2-3 hours! Emergencies happen and of course they should take precedence above all else. However, if a facility is so short-staffed that a basic teeth cleaning is going to take upwards of 8 hours, the owners should be informed! I immediately canceled the procedure and proceeded to pick up our dog. No apologies or reparations were offered. They are either very short-staffed, extremely unorganized, or both. We will never use this clinic again. If you are looking for a well-ran, caring, and affordable Vet for your pet... LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Dr. Dunn is amazing! Billy has gotten all his vaccinations and rabies from her and loves coming in to see her. This time around he was very sleepy so she made some adjustments to make him comfortable! I'd highly recommend coming to Caring Hands to see Dr. Dunn for your furry friends!
I moved to CO from the East Coast. Someone I respect a lot at the local dog park recommended Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital where I board my dogs anytime I'm out of town. Nice facility, reasonable costs, excellent staff and most important, my dogs like it too. Nice place to kennel your dog at a convenient location.
